Air Max 97 Neon Seoul

For Nike’s “On Air ” competition, independent designers were given the opportunity to reinvent iconic models. One of the winners was able to present his own interpretation of Christian Tressler ‘s iconic design.

To make this Nike Air Max 97 , Gwang Shin was inspired by the city of Seoul. More specifically, the illuminated signs that flood the city with light at night. The shoe has a black leather base with a number of colourful ripples. These are in the colours of the national flag. In terms of details, there are round two-tone laces, an oversized swoosh on the quarter panel, as well as the inscription ” Seoul ” affixed to the branding of the tongue and the insoles.

This Air Max 97 Neon Seoul recalls the edition created by Sean Wotherspoon but in a more subdued and vibrant colour scheme.
